{Wednesday, July 1, 2009 . Virus and bacterias!}

Ms Deepa asked the question about whether are virus the same as cells. This information is taken from this website . This is what they said:

Virus Structure
Viruses are not plants, animals, or bacteria, but they are the quintessential parasites of the living kingdoms. Although they may seem like living organisms because of their prodigious reproductive abilities, viruses are not living organisms in the strict sense of the word.

So,in short, virus are parasites. In other to survive, the virus must have a host cell. Without a host cell, it dies. Now, they said viruses are not bacteria. confusing really... ok, now, i'm going to talk about bacteria and man, its really intersting that bacteria benefits human!

The information is taken from this website . This is it:

They are as unrelated to human beings as living things can be, but bacteria are essential to human life and life on planet Earth. Although they are notorious for their role in causing human diseases, from tooth decay to the Black Plague, there are beneficial species that are essential to good health.

Ain't it amazing? They also said that there's this bacteria that lives in our intestine that manufactures vitamin K that helps blood to clot.

So in short, virus are parasites and bacteria are cells.

(PS: i think virus are cool because they can infect cells and make them the host cell while the bacteria is cool too because they can ''eat'' other cells and digest them and its pretty awesome. what do you think? virus or bacteria?)
